Culture and History
Cameron Highlands was named after and discovered in 1885 by an English man named William Cameron during a survey operation in the Titiwangsa Mountain Range. Today, Cameron Highlands is a lively holiday destination with a multi-racial ethnic community encompassing Chinese, Malays, Indians and Aborigines. |

Tourist Guide
The weather of Cameron Highlands can best be described as ‘cooling wet'. Being high up the mountains means it's constantly cold and humid, with lots of mist in the early mornings and late evenings. Wearing wind-breakers, jackets and other approriate clothing is encouraged if you're susceptible to the cold. |
How to Go
Cameron Highlands may be accessed by three major roads. Decades ago, the windy road from Tapah was the only way of getting there, and it was prone to landslides and other dangers. Today, an additional two roads have been built with better safety and clearer visibility. Knowing your way up is essential, if you get lost, you might ruin your holiday! |
Towns
The three main townships of Cameron Highlands are Brinchang, Tanah Rata and Riglet, all of which are described in this section. Smaller villages, residential areas and townships exist further down the range from Brinchang, such as Kampung Raja and Tringkap. Tourist spots and shopping places are concentrated mostly in Brinchang and Tanah Rata. |
