Gunung Irau is the highest mountain of Cameron Highlands, perched next to Gunung Brinchang at 2,110 meters. A popular hiking ground for visitors, the trail to conquer its summit begins where the
mossy forest boardwalk ends, taking between two and three hours to complete a 2.35km climb. While considered an easy climb by most, the journey is a fascinating kaleidoscope of vibrant flowers, draping orchids, striking moss gardens, dense shrubs and dramatic pitcher plants. It is in fact, a continuation of the mossy forest landscape, but with more pristine sights due to its inaccessibility to casual tourists. From the peak, a trail continues to other mountains on the Yellow Pass, exiting along Simpang Pulai highway.
