Gunung Irau is the highest mountain of Cameron Highlands, perched almost next to Gunung Brinchang at 2,110 meters. A popular hiking ground for visitors, the trail to conquer its summit begins where the mossy forest boardwalk ends, taking between two to three hours to complete over a 2.35km distance. While considered an easy climb by most, the journey is a fascinating kaleidoscope of vibrant flowers, draping orchids, striking moss gardens, dense shrubs and dramatic pitcher plants. It is in fact, a continuation of the mossy forest landscape, but with more pristine sights due to its inaccessibility to casual tourists.
