Tringkap is very much a shot back in time of Cameron Highlands, when villages and rickety shoplots were the only structures for miles across a countryside landscape. Isolated from the development and commercialisation that has overtaken Tanah Rata and Brinchang, Tringkap retains its rural atmosphere, with little distinction between homes and shops among dilapidated buildings nestled along the main road. Situated 7km away from Brinchang, the town is an agricultural stronghold and backdoor to reach Cameron Highlands from Kampung Raja (after Simpang Pulai or Gua Musang exits). The only hotels here are a few family homes converted for visitor accommodation.
