Before strawberry farms and tea plantations, Cameron Highlands was an untouched valley lined with tropical rainforests - home to the Orang Asli and a destination for intrepid explorers in search of adventure. Today, much of the land lies wasted in the name of tourist development, but there are still nature attractions for visitors to discover, though no longer as pristine as they once were. At the foothills near Tapah town, the Kuala Woh Recreational Park is a great place to explore lowland rainforest. In Cameron Highlands, visitors can head up to the peak of Gunung Brinchang for an impressive view of the valley or to visit the fabled mossy forest.
