Langkap

Perak, Malaysia

Langkap is a sleepy hollow at Hilir Perak, located along the Tapah-Teluk Intan route about 10km away from Bidor. Little known to outsiders except Perak natives, Langkap has a delicious specialty - 'Nam Yee' Pau, which is the traditional Chinese white bun (bao) stuffed with fatty pork strips marinated with fermented red bean curd (tofu with red yeast rice) and Shao Hsing (rice wine).

Langkap Pau has also been marketed in Ipoh, but it is here where visitors can eat the original product itself - at Pao Lo Restaurant, a corner shoplot along the main road. Meanwhile in the countryside, orchards, jungles and former mining pools provide some mesmerising scenery.
